About

It started as a third-grade
homework assignment.

In 2019, my kid Blue handed me a single sheet of paper covered in tight pencil. It was a synopsis of an epic-fantasy novel they wanted to write. That page became Phoenix Rising — and six years, four Elementalists books, a trilogy-in-progress, and a Kirkus review later, I'm still writing fantasy from our kitchen table in Bozeman, Montana.

Now I write urban myth for grown-ups too. The kind with sharp edges and real heart.
